since it is a crap format ,, you will have to really convert them first to avi ..

    then any editor will work

dont expect to much in terms of quality

You could try REVE. It's freeware, so you don't have much to lose. But Real is a proprietary format and not a lot of editing options are available. And most highly compressed video like Real is difficult to edit anyway. After you re-encode them, especially after extensive editing, there may not be much quality left.

Unless you really have to work in that format, there are better options with similar quality for their file size.

One other that I know of is on the Real site, but it's pretty basic: http://service.real.com/help/videoccg/editing.html

There is also the AVS editor, but it's payware: http://appcraft.org/shop.php?pid=45&kid=46&detail=1024

RealVideo was not really made to be edited. I usually convert it to DV or some low compression format and edit it with VirtualDub.

The Zwei-Stein Video Editor 3.01 might be able to handle the format. It's freeware and has a graphical interface and quite a few features: http://www.tucows.com/preview/195042
