Hallo @all,
in the DVD Player DVD±R/W Compatibility list I can read something like “Bit DVD+R DL”, to find under Yamaha DVD-S540. What does it mean (the word “Bit”)?
Does this mean that, if I would change the Booktype to DVD-ROM before burning, I could play my DVD+R DL in this DVD SAP?
Do you have any suggestions?
Please don't worry about my english, I'm from Germany.
Thank you, adler07

Hi adler07,
This is the book type, DVD-ROM, that I must select to make my DVD+R DL disk compatible with my Yamaha dvd-s540. When I do not select this book type, it seems that my player isn't able to read the DVD+R DL's second layer.
I am using Nero 6.6.0.19 and this option is in menu Recorder > Choose Recorder. Press button Options. The "book type" option depends on your selected DVD-Writer.
Good Luck -
It is also listed in the glossary under bitsetting/booktype.

One Year ago, but I will not forget to say "Thank you for help!"
I have tried it since then with different brands of DVD+R-DL and I can say: Yes, it works! (more or less) My Player is also only a human...
Thank you, adler07
