That is great, the vob file I want to convert also has many chapters, how would I just pick a chapter I want out of this and then convert?

    You don't.
If you just want one specific chapter, rip just that chapter (possible with DVDDecrypter in IFO mode, IIRC) you want.

...just one other thing, I have copied the vob dvd files to my hard drive, I can only select a dvd drive, is it possible to look in a folder instead of a dvd?

    Many thanks

Nope. DVDDecrypter wants a disc as source.
Maybe DVDShrink (in reauthor mode) can help?

  7. As Mats suggests, load the DVD in DVDSHrink and choose re-author mode. You can then select the beginning and end of any segment of a DVD title and save it as a new dvd - later you can just select all the vobs you have made and author your new compilation of clips onto one DVD using any DVD authoring software. You can also use DVDShrink to grab titles from various DVD's and select a clip from each. If you need multiple clips from the same DVD, simply browse and reload the title.

I wanted to take a short clip from two different DVD movies and put them on my cf card to play on my pda and did it successfully and quickly using dvdshrink and AutoGk.
