  1. I have the Nvidia GeForce 6100 graphics card and a Viewsonic LCD widescreen monitor. The monitor model number shows right in Nvidia, but it thinks it's a CRT, not an LCD, so I can't get to some features like scaling. Is there something I can do to make Nvidia recognize the monitor as LCD? I tried e-mailing Nvidia, but haven't got any response.

It's all in the details.... what model LCD? How are you connecting tje monitor??? VGA? Digital?
My 26" LCD is connected through DVI and some of my featues / tweaks don't work.... Mine is listed a "plug and play"......

You can also try to see if a Windows driver or profile exists for the monitor on the manufacturer's site. It might help the system figure out what the monitor is supposed to be... I think Windows defaults to seeing monitors as CRTs without additional drivers or profiles, so that might be the problem.

  4. I've got the XP signed driver from Viewsonic's website. I tried new Nvidia drivers that were just released yesterday, they're worse. It still sees it as a CRT, but I don't even have the 1440x900 resolution option. I had to go back to the old drivers to get full resolution.
