Glad if anybody who understand about HDV technology can help...

Is there any such tape for HDV camcorder? Or only miniDV tape is available for use? Will the quality be lost if a miniDV is used for recording in a HDV camcorder, set to record in HDV mode and subsequently capture for editting? I am using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.1 (with HDV plugin). What must I do to preserve the HDV high quality video during editting and exporting into a wmv format?

Please advise and thanks for your advise!

You can record on regular DV tape, however, Sony makes a tape especially for HDV recording which they claim has the following advantages:

90% fewer errors due to 40% increase in carrier-to-noise ratio*
    50% fewer dropouts*
    50% less tape shrinkage*
    3db higher carrier-to-noise ratio*

Sony has just announced a new 85 minute tape for HDV recording, but it's much more expensive. I don't know if it has any advantages over the 63 minute tape (other than length) or not:

I have never used anything except the the 63 minute tape for HDV as I figure if I'm going to go to the effort to shoot HDV, I ought to use a better than average tape. I've never experienced a dropout or other problem with it that I know of.
