This is what i assume.
You probably have divx 4.2 codec if u dl movies saying that some avis open so here is conclusion-
Check and make sure u have divx 4.2, if u dont dl it
If that still dont help, open tmpgenc, go to options, environmental settings, vfapi tab at far right.
In there set direct show multimedia to priority of +5 -
Hey, i had the same problem and everyone told me that it was my divx but i always had the latest one installed, but on one reply someone posted they said to do the follow:
in TMPGEnc --> Options --> Enviromental Studies --> VFAPI --> and set Directshow multimedia plugin to priority 5.
I tried this and it worked, i have no idea what it does but it got the job done -
nevermind im a dork the guy before me posted the same thing heh, sorry bout that

I find anything higher then +1 in directshow will cause BAD divx playback (artifacting & freezing) 1+ should work..

Too COol. I had another post about this same problem and the same answer (You've got the wrong DivX codec). This fixes it.
Maybe should be posted on the how to pages for TMPGEnc?
Just a thought
