Hee,
I've tried several dvd rippers but none of them is able to
rip my dvd.
I record a movie from the tv to a dvd and try to rip the
dvd but it never works. Some of the dvd rippers say that
they can't find the .IFO file and others say that they can't
find the 3th .VOB file ( but it's defenitly on the dvd )
Some if the dvd rippers that I've already downloaded are:
Super, DVD Decrypter, DVDFab Decrypter and more and they
all come from this site...
Does anybody have suggestions? Or maybe another dvd ripper?
Every suggestion is welcome!

Is the original DVD finalized?

Yep
Well I burn the movie on a dvd rew. and when I try to
finalize it the dvd recorder tells me it's already finalized...
Once I burned an episode on the dvd and that one was
accepted by some of the dvd rippers but a whole movie is not...Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?

Just so I'm getting this straight:
You're recording on your DVD recorder.
Short recordings can then be ripped on the computer.
Longer recordings can't be ripped (with various error messages/symptoms).
Correct? If so, it smells like bad media to me...
/Mats -
No I hope not!
Do you have any suggestions of how to rip a dvd?
Maybe I missed a dvd ripper tool...Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?

In my experience, if DVDDecrypter fails at ripping a home made DVD, there's something wrong with the DVD.

Well, I've tried but it takes 8,5 hours to
rip the dvd... it's a bit long isn't it?Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?

Why decrypt/rip anyway? Try dragging the folder(s) to your hard drive, if that doesn't work then the disc is probably shagged.

8 hours is much too long. The disc is undoubtedly bad in some way.

But when I copy the files to my hard disk, and later I want to burn
them on a dvd with NeroVision 3, Nero starts transcoding the files
but stops after 2 sec. but Nero keeps running and there's no error message...
( I know that for sure because I didn't shut down my computer for a whole
night hoping that Nero would still be converting but IT DIDN'T! )Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?

So, you can copy the files to HDD? If so, just burn them to disc with ImgBurn 2.

Allright I am trying it out right now....

Well, it works but it's not exactly what I mean.
I put the recorded dvd file son my computer
so that I can burn them again WITH a menu
( and, for example, when I recorded Rambo
I download the one without the subtitles and ( want )
to put them on the dvd with the recorded movie....
But thanks anyway for the ImgBurn 2!Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?

So lets see if this is right ....
You record a movie (ie. rambo) from a tv broadcast on your standalone dvd recorder..
you then want to copy this movie and add subtitles that were downloaded from the internet ...
is this correct .... if so then yes it can be done but you will need to reauthor the dvd in order to add subtitles
However what you are doing is most likely illegal (i'm not clued up on the law in the netherlands but its pretty much illegal in every country) and amounts to piracy ... piracy won't be discussed on this site .... piracy is illegal .... go out and buy a copy of the movie -

I'll try, though I am not sure you guys know what I mean so I'll explain....
I want Rambo WITH subtitles and Rambo WITHOUT the subtitles
BOTH on ONE dvd...
( You might understand this better then my previous loooong story! )Kate: What's the big thing that happens every Monday at one o'clock?
