Hi, I have several clips encoded to mpeg2, and I would like them to behave as 1 title on the final authored DVD, so that every clip beginning is a chapter. I used do this in TDA by adding all of them in the same track. Can this be done in DVDLab Pro? Thanks.

No, not the same way as in TDA. DVD-Lab expects you to have the source files ready before authoring.

A playlist can accomplish this - sort of. You will need to add a chapter mark at the very end of each clip to simulate the ability to skip fwd between clips, or each clip will have to play out from the (original) final chapter before moving on to the next one. However, unless I'm mistaken you won't be able to skip back between clips.

In DLP 2.0, try using a Multi-PGC Title (see DLP 2.0 Help files for explanation and example on how to jump to a specific segment).

There are some restrictions and rules:
    · You can have up to 99 segments in a Multi-PGC Title
    · The video segments must have same properties (frame size, aspect ratio, FPS)
    · The audio must be the same type for all segments (AC3, MPA, WAV)
    · You can't manually add chapters. The chapters will be automatically inserted at beginning of each segment.
    · There is no direct way in the menu interface for buttons to link to each segment, only to the beginning of the Title. Each segment of the Multi-PGC title belongs to the same Title (so it is addressed by the same JumpVTS_TT)
However you can use JumpVTS_PTT to jump from menu to particular part of the Multi-PGC title (see below) -- this is in the help files...
    Regards,
    George

Yes, Multi-PGC is the way to go. A Multi-PGC will add a chapter point to the beginning of each segment however; it won’t find them to automatically generate “Scene selection menus”. You can do that yourself.

I am currently working on a music DVD and I have each songs assets (video and multiple audio). I want the viewer to be able to select a song for single play by jumping into one song and returning to the selection menu. They also can do a play all where they can next and previous as you would while listening to an audio CD. I used a “Hub” object to program some registers setting what mode (single play or play all (Standard for Multi-PGC)). I also had to add logic to the “Multi-PCG” object to check if it’s running in Single mode, it checks to see what segment it should be playing. It works really well and you only need one set of assets to work both ways.

But you DO have to program the layout. This is where DVD Lab Pro 2.0 really shines, in that you have the ability to do anything you can logically imagine I can post more detailed information if anyone is interested. It need only use a menu, hub and multi-PGC object.

If you are using the older 1.5x or 1.6x version of DLP, the term used is Movie Segment. Similar concept, slightly easier to set up.
