I'm fairly inexperienced with video, although I have used VirtualDub for some time for basic conversion applications.
I had read that VirtualDubMod does all that VirtualDub, plus more. So I decided to use it instead from now on (especially as I will be working with MPEG.)
But, using version 1.5.10.2, when I opened an AVI file I got this:
"AVI: Type-1 DV file detected -- VirtualDub cannot extract audio from this type of interleaved stream."
The file opens fine in VirtualDub, and plays audio and video. Can anyone help please?
BTW, I did try to use the forum via the link at http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net but it was
inaccessible.
I can provide file information if required.

Try converting it to type 2 with the ULead utility. Or stick to VirtualDub for DV type 1 - Besides reading mpg, there's not much that's better in VDubMod compared to regular VDub.
You can have both installed simultaneously.

Or use VirtualDub-Mpeg2. It has kept up with the updates of the base VirtualDub and can open Type1 as well as Mpgs.

Thanks both. Duly added VirtualDub-Mpeg2 to my tool collection.
