Alright…I’m definitely new to burning dvd’s and converting files…so im really hoping you could help me guys. I’ve grabbed vids and mp3’s (mpeg and wmv) from youtube/flv files, mpeg files and wmv files that I wish to convert to different formats (esp for my ipod). So far, the only converter that I have is SUPER. I also have videora. I’ve tried looking for threads regarding this….but some are already outdated…

If there’s an updated and existing thread already about my converting query that I might’ve failed to see when I’ve searched, then kindly post it…

I’d like to know the settings for SUPER in converting my files…but if you could recommend other converter(s), then please do. It’d be evry much appreciated. So here goes…

    1) flv to svcd
    2) flv to mpeg4/ipod (for viewing in ipod and my laptop, so that means two different frame sizes right?)
    3) vcd to svcd
    4) vcd to mpeg4/ipod (for viewing in ipod and my laptop, so that means two different frame sizes right?)
    5) vcd to dvd format
    6) mpeg to wmv [and vice versa, which format is better anyway, mpeg or wmv?]
    7) mpeg and wmv to mpeg4 (for viewing in my ipod and laptop)
    8) ripped dvd files to svcd format and mpeg4/ipod (again, for viewing in my ipod and laptop)

I do not mind if they end up as big files (but not too big please) cos I’d like to get the best quality possible. I already hae a dvd-writer and as of now, I’d like to burn these files as my archive. Your help would be very much appreciated.

I think the Guides section to your left might be a good start
    If in doubt, Google it.

SUPER has some presets under the "1. Select the Output Container" dropdown, including an "Apple - iPod" preset. You can always pick that, or the MP4 selection, and experiment with the settings under the Video and Audio sections. (Be sure to set the frame rate equal to what it is in the original file you're converting, or you may wind up with sync errors.)

It's probably a good idea to not change the iPod preset's settings too much, though. I don't remember what the limitations on the iPod video format were, but I believe they're mentioned somewhere on Apple's site. I usually just leave everything the way it is, and haven't had a problem with anything playing on the iPod (yet).

I'm using Super for encoding .flv to .vob. After that I'm planning to burn into dvd using Ulead. But when I play the VOB file in media classic player, the audio seems to be low. what can be done to correct it?

    Thanks.
