    I've been trying out KMPlayer.

Deleted old version, and unzipped new version, but now can't get files to associate with it.

I'm talking about the right-click/open-with sub-menu. I'm not trying to make it the default player, just add it to the list of programs in the "open with" list. I right-click/open-with/browse to the KMPlayer.exe and double click it, but when it returns to the list KMPlayer isn't there.

The older version I had a little problem with getting there, but finally got it to appear on the list. But I've tried 15-20 times to get this there, and it just won't appear on the list.

    Suggestions anyone?

    Thanks.

If all else fails, you can go to 'Tools>Folder Options>File Types' in any folder and change the association for each type of video that you want to associate with the player.

    Thanks for replying redwudz.

I don't want to associate a file with the player. I just want to put it in the list of programs to open it with.

    See picture.

*KMPlayer is actually entered in the picture shown-it's my other comp*

That's what you get when you right-click a file and choose program to open with. When I browse to the player and double-click the .exe it's supposed to then be in the list shown so I can open the file with it. But every time I double-click the .exe it returns to the list without being entered.

What works for me is to manually pick that new program and set it as the default program. (Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.) Then manually set the association back to what it was before. The new program now appears in the possible list.
