  1. I'm encoding my files with cce before authoring them to DVD. All my assets are currently interlaced. Do I need to checkmark deinterlacing or can I leave them interlaced? I'm not sure about this. Would my TV show the interlacing if I burn the files interlaced? Or is this just a phenomenon you see on PC monitors and I don't have to worry about deinterlacing?

If you are playing them on the tv, leave them interlaced. If playing on your pc, you can leave them interlaced if you play with powerdvd, or videolan. Other players might require that you de-interlace.

  4. OK, thanks! Do you know if that is also true if they are being watched on a high definition TV? Does it matter?

If the HDTV needs to deinterlace, it will and do a better job of it most times.
