  1. I have an .avi of Gladiator but when I try to encode it into .mpg in TMPGE, it says that there was an error when trying to encode audio. I tried another encoding program and it said that the .avi file uses compressed audio and it cannot encode it.

Does anyone know a workaround this so I can convert this .avi file into an .mpg?

  2. Use VirtualDub to extract the audio from the movie, "File -> Save WAV" or something, then go into TMPG and for the VIDEO stream choose your video file, BUT for audio choose the WAV file you extracted. Then encode as per usual. This should work, hope it helps.

  4. hey you could do all that audio extracting and what not and waste alot of time Or you could just get a good program like Ulead DVD movie studio That program encoded an asf/wmv to mpeg vcd format in the same amount of time that the movie was so in about 2 hours I was watching the movie eating juju beads, but you can do all that extracting audio stuff if you want also if you use ulead dvd theres not a spot or button that says encode What you do is goto storyboard and add file then you goto finish choose your poison (encoding preference) and bingo youve encoded the movie This thing also encodes Smr divx asf wmv its the best capture encoder Ive ever used
