hi,
I am attempting to use the settings that this reviewer used to capture video but am ncountering problems:
Review located here: http://www.bigbruin.com/reviews/leadtektv2000/index4.php
The problem is that i cannot select the MPEG-1 Layer II audio codec; when i choose MICROSOFTs MPEG-4 video codec (or any other video codec from my list ). how do i know this is odd (besides the reviewer being able to select it?) because when i have MPEG-2 Codec selected(video) i can select MPEG-1 Audio Layer-II so i know it not only exists but can be recorded using it."The same recording done using Microsoft's MPEG-4 V2 video CODEC and the MPEG-1 Layer II audio CODEC will result in a decent recording with a file size of around 500 megs.
What you choose all depends on what quality you demand and how much disk space you have to work with."
(see screenshots below)
There has also been some problems when testing other capture settings it apears that the video codec encounters problems and produces the black screen with audio problem, now i admit that on one occasion i forgot to turn off NAV so this could be the problem for the black screen during the last capture(on the capture and at the time on screen) - any ideas or thoughts on this second 'problem' are welcome.
updates:
have updated winfast pvp and all the drivers (well the ones that are listed as the 'new' ones on the leadtek website but are a yearish old).
hardware:
My card: winfast tv2000xp expert.
codecs:
i did have CCP installed for my codecs as this contained most that i used but for the meantime anyways now have k-light installed incase this 'forced' PVR to rescan for installed codecs.
any help is much appreciated, or thoughts
thanks
chez
images:
the first shows that the audio codec is listed with the mpeg-2 video codec. (titled with.jpg)
the second shows the selected codec (MPEG-4) with all avaiable audio (some of these do not capture audio) (titled without.jpg)
the third shows the current list of codecs that are picked up. (titled list1,2,3.jpg)
due to html being set to off (and me being unable to overide that i will have to manually like you to them hosted on photobucket - instead of my site (which at the moment is encountering downtime). appologise for this.
