Hello, I'd like to convert my mp3 to mmf so that I can send it to my friend's Samsung phone via SMS. So what program can do that conversion?

A little Googling on your behalf (as I was intrigued by this format) led me to a Yamaha site (the inventor of this format). A couple of clicks, and I found this page - Sound Decorator - a wav to SMAF (.mmf) converter. But I really doubt it can be transfered as SMS, since SMS is max 160 bytes. Possibly MMS.

To be fair, Mats did say (changed emphasis mine):

A couple of clicks, and I found this page - Sound Decorator - a wav to SMAF (.mmf) converter.
Converting MP3 to WAVE format is fairly trivial... unless you're trying to avoid double-encoding the file? The sound probably isn't going to be as good as even an MP3 in an MMF file, so it might not make that much of a difference.

Well, I made the assumption MP3 to WAV would be too trivial to really be worth mentioning, but:
Load the MP3 in goldwave. Save wav.

nah, I got this PC Sync. It converts direct from mp3 to mmf. I heard that SMS can only send files 200kb or smaller? and the final mmf I got from that conversion is 300kb something, so is there a program that shrinks mmf? I don't mind the worse quality. I googled, but can't seem to find it.

Basically SMS is limited to 160 byte, and only for plain text messages.
I don't think you can compress mmf further, but perhaps use a lower sample rate/bit rate in the mp3 you start with? Or cut it down somewhat?
