Nerovision 7 problem: Inserting video file into project

I am trying to burn some downloaded episodes onto a DVD. THey were originally in AVI and i have converted them to both MPEG-2 and VOB with Xilisoft and tried with both file types to burn them onto a dvd.

But when i open Nerovision and add the file, it comes up wit hthe error message "unable to insert "file name" into project"

Why isnt this working?

No more details in the error msg?

Or try another dvd authoring tool like tmpgenc dvd author and import the mpeg2.
Or xilisoft may not make compliant dvd mpegs, try import the avis directly in Nerovision or try ConvertXtoDVD!

thats all the error message said, it wouldnt let me burn avi's either, I downloaded nero, could it be a dodgy version of Nero?
