    what is the video format that i should use for burning a dvd?

    i need to be able to play this on a multitude of dvd players....

    also, what is the most common audio format i should be using?

    MPEG-2 or MPEG-1 is the video format. PCM, 'MPEG-1, Layer 2' and AC3 are all valid audio formats.

    If you look to the upper left in 'WHAT IS' DVD, you will see the DVD specifications and structure.

    I use MPEG-2 video and AC3 audio as it's fairly compact and the most universal. You can convert to AC3 with a program like ffmpeggui or others.

    For MPEG-2, you need to encode to DVD complaint video. Look to 'CONVERT' for guides. Then you need to author to the DVD structure. 'AUTHOR' will give you guides for that. Finally, look in 'Tools' for the programs to use. <<<<<<
