Is there any way to backup my dvd's without using a computer?

It depends. If they have DeCSS encryption or newer, you would need a computer with some programs to backup a DVD you own. This is typical of commercial DVDs.
If they aren't encrypted and you own them, you can just copy them directly, even with a DVD recorder. Of course, you would need DVD media with enough capacity to copy them directly. Most pressed (commercial) DVDs are much larger than the standard single layer DVD (DVD-5) that can hold about 4.37GB. If you to use a dual layer DVD, they can hold about 7.95GB (DVD-9), large enough to fit the video from most pressed DVDs. -
Short answer - no for commercial discs, yes for your own home mvies.
Long answer - most HDD based DVD recorders have the facility to duplicate discs without re-encoding, however they will noy copy css protected discs. Disc duplication systems have the same limitations.Read my blog here.
