  1. Was recording the last episode of Big Brother, when halfway thru the show I got an error message saying that it would stop recording because the material was copywritted. Why would this suddenly just happen afeter already recording half the show? Any general info about Copy writted Broadcasts would also be helpful as I am still new to this. Thanks

  2. What DVD recorder are you using? My sister said it used to happen all the time with her Samsung. She bought a Toshiba and said it hasn't happened since.

I'd be interested in knowing if this has happened to anyone using a Hauppauge PVR150 capture device. I have one and it's never happened to me.

The Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 doesn't look at copy protection. It simply records everything.

  6. The Happauge doesn't record any thing. It captures the program.
A software program such as Decrypter will strip the CP and ( some with Nero) will burn the disk.
But this is using a PC

[ryangarfield] I believe was speaking to a stand alone recorder and most if not all units, at present, will react to CP
If a Toshiba does not It would be a first . I don't belive CP was the problem with the Samsung.

  7. My stand alone DVD recorder is in fact a Samsung, i have recorded other broadcasts including other episodes of the same show( Big Brother) and have not had any problems. Just curious as to why it happened that one time. I was recieving the signal from a set of rabbit ears and maybe interpreted a signal as copy protection or something. Are there any channels in particular that copy protect their shows or is it just certain shows that have it or do most shows not have it?

  9. Thats a typo from the japanese.. should have said "that it would stop recording because the material was half-witted". Doh! those pesky Koreans!
Probably just a signal glitch .. you should try having London Bus's going past interrupting your signal..
