    Not if the device isn't attached. This utility works even if the devices aren't attached and lets you restore the default names with one click. You can also see at a glance what devices have been attached in the past, should you need to know.

    As it happens, we developed this primarily because we discovered that Vista Beta 2 doesn't support DV stuff as completely as XP yet and we have a need to create "friendly names" for DV devices in Vista...

    And it's free!
