Try ConvertXToDVD, it's very easy to use. Or you can use the older freeware version XvidToDVD. Or there is a newer freeware program you might try, FAVC.

it made an audio ts and a video ts folder , what am i suppose to do now?

Thanks for helping me out guys I really appreciate it, I dont really know what came with my DVD Writer, I always have problems burning DVD+R disks with this LITEON DVD Writer that I have , its so bad...
I will try burning the Audio Ts and Video Ts folders with imgburn2, and post back to let you know if its works...
again thanks for the help I really appreciate it. -
when I open imgburn
on the main page it sais:
Source and also Destination Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1693S (D
so i click on Sources (+ icon)
please select a file...
I click the + icon, and then a window pops up that sais imgburn queue
my options are Add and Close so i click add , i goto the video ts and the audio ts folders but it seems that its not a supported folder/file because when i click on them there is nothing inside. What do I have to load in order to make the audio ts and video ts folders into a dvd disk?
Thanks for any help -
im pretty new at this and theres so much written there i dont even know where to start, please help...
can someone recommend a good dvd burner please? -
These are the guides from the imgburn forum. It is worth taking a little time to learn these, as there are few better burners around.

Hey Zippy
You said "For avi you need to convert to a dvd compliant mpeg. If you already have a compliant mpeg then you need to author your disk, that is create the dvd structure of vob's and ifo's in a video_ts folder. "
How do I make the avi into a compliant mpeg? If i do already have a compliant mpeg, how do I know ? Is there a way to check?
What does autoring your disk mean? I didnt understand the last part creating the dvd structure of Vobs? and Ifos? in a video ts folder? I have no idea what that means... Thanks for your help though I hope you guys can still bare with me I know im asking so many questions that seem so stupid to you ,,, sorry. -

When you go to author your mpeg the program will usually tell you if it is DVD ready."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
Alright I used AVI2DVD, it created the audio ts folder, video ts , and the dvd image.
Now I tried burning the image using imgburn, it gets to 100% but it doesnt say job done... the cd trey opens and then closes right away and it sais on the botom:
"DEVICE NOT READY (Medium Not Present)"
I took out the disk because it seemed like nothing was happening, i tried putting it in a dvd player but it didnt work...

-
cant read the contents back on my writer , you can however see contents on other peoples riter i believe only one time ... but anyways
what is the BEST writer i can get? -
in your first post, you said the disk worked on your burner but not on your dvd player and a couple of times you mentioned dvd+r's. that could be part of your problem. as far as i know, the dvdforum still doesn't recognize dvd+r. the first dvd i ever burned was on dvd+r. i brought it over to my girlfriends and the player wouldn't recognize it. i tried a couple more but since then, all i buy are dvd-r and i've never had a problem. as far as software, if you just want a simple dvd - i like winavi to convert to dvd. get dvdshrink and dvd decrypter (both excellent free progs). even though dvdshrink is for compression, you can still use it on dvd's that would fit on a blank disk anyway. after you create the dvd files, open dvd shrink and choose "open files" (second icon from left) and direct it to the video_ts folder where your dvd files are located. once it's opened, click "back up" (fourth icon from left). first page is "target device" - i'll get back to that. if your files are bigger that 4.35 gb, click the "quality settings" tab and make sure both boxes are checked (if they're greyed out, the files are already small enough to fit on a disk). click the "burn settings" tab and enter name you want for your dvd. back to main page ("target device"). there are two fields. on the bottom one, direct dvdshrink to folder where it can create iso (disk image) - it doesn't matter where. in dropdown on top select "iso image file and burn with dvd decrypter". click "ok" and go make a cup of coffee, the rest is automated.
i'm not sure if dvdshrink and/or dvd decrypter are available here or not but, if not, they can be found anywhere. i'm sure you can get them at afterdawn and doom9 -
Question, I looked at my computer and it shows 2 DVD DRIVES
One is D: which is the corrrect one and then I have another in the letter G:
one sais D: DVD-RW Drive one sais
GVD Drive
i only have one drive why does it show two? -
You are either extremly thick or a wind up merchant.........Just my opinion of course
Oscar. -
i only have one drive why does it show two?
Perhaps one is a virtual drive. Do you have Daemon Tools or similar installed? -
yes I do... but does it effect me burning dvds cause nothing i burn works
-
Try running FixVTS on the DVD image before you burn it. This will fix any probems with DVD compliancy. Then open it with DVDShirnk. If DVDShrink opens it, it is probably a good image to burn. Then use DVDDcrypter or imgburn 2 to burn it.
What brand DVD are you using. A rule of thumb, is never use any DVDs that are made in any country other than Japan for best results. About the only Japan manufactured disk available in the stores today is Sony, others are available online. You should also check the DVD charts to ensure that the DVD brand you are using is ok for your burner. (NEVER use cheap store brand, as they are usually crap, unless you check here for info before purchasing them). Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic
