I have a music file that is 1.74gb I would like to put the tracks on cd's to play on stand alone players. Is there a programme that will compress![]()
the tracks to fit as many on a single disk as possible that will also play on a player. Any advice I would be greatful.

CD audio is uncompressed PCM at 16bit 44.1 kHz. You are fixed on how much you can fit. It is not like DVD, where you can just reduce the bitrate.
If you want to play it in MP3 capable players, then you can start to squeeze it down some. But if you want it playable as a redbook standard audio CD, you will be restricted to around 74 minutes on a standard CD.Read my blog here.
