Okay, i followed the tutorial on HQ DVDrips. After all that has been done, i went and ripped the subs from the leftover DVD files in the effect of having EXTERNAL subs. Now that i have the AVI and a few sub files. I ripped the sub files 1 at a time by language and labeled them by language (Same label as the movie) using VOBSUB. I know to keep the sub/idx files, but what do i do next? I want to leave the subs external to be used at the users leisure. Will the subs be synched?

From now on, it's up to the avi player to decide what will happen or not. If you have the VOBSUB filter active in your computer, and the AVI and .sub/.idx files have the same name as the AVI, and they are in the same directory, any player that uses DirectShow will play the AVI with subs.
Some players don't need the vobsub filter, but will show subtitles on their own. In combination with the vobsub filter, you may even get 2 subtitles overlayed.
Some will let you select what sub to use explicitly.
Some wont do subs at all, or not vobsub subs.
What do you want the AVI to play back with subs on?
