my method of ripping is smartripper->dvd2avi->tempgenc...
this method doesn't include subtitles but one 2 of my rips i noticed that subtitles were already included directly in the vobs (video source)..(i.e. TRUE LIES when arabic was spoken and 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU when french was spoken)
looks like when a foreign language is spoken, subtitles are automatically added into the vobs....
however, when i ripped traffic, no subtitles appeared when spanish was spoken...i was wondering if anyone else ripped traffic and was subtitles automatically included in the vobs when spanish was spoken...(when playing the actual dvd english subtitles were automatically shown during spoken spanish, but not spoken english)...so it's not a complete subtitle throughout the entire movie....so just wondering if anyone got subtitles to be automatically included into the vobs (video source) or do i need to add subtitles separately like for regular completely english-speaking movies

You will have to add subtitles before using tempgenc.
The method cannot be found on this site.
1) use smart ripper
2) use DVD2AVI
3) use the program VFAPIconv-en.to convert the DVD2AVI file.-this will take you about 10 seconds
4) rip the subtitles from your VOB. files with the program SUBRIP.
5) convert the subbtitles with the program "conversor SRt to SSA."- this will take you about 3 seconds
6) Open "Virtual dub"
7) In virtual dub:Open the file created with the VFAPIconv program
In Virtual dub:Open under Video the section Filters.
9) select the subtitler filter (you'll have to download this filter) and open the file you have created with the program "conversor SRT to SSA"
10) Frameserve it.
11) Open im tmpgenc the frameserved file as your video source.
12) Open in tmpgenc the audio file created with DVD2AVI
13) have fun
All the programs you need, and a complete guide, you can find over here: http://www.flexion.org
The whole process as described above will take about 15 minutes of your time, and believe me; it worth it.

thnx...but...as i mentioned b4 two of my rips had subtitles automatically included in it when non-english is spoken...i was wondering if other ppl have ripped traffic and if subtitles were automatically included when spanish was spoken

The subtitles you mean are part of the video stream. Those could never be removed, because they are part of the image.
I cannot help you with that. I just answered the following question from you:
"or do i need to add subtitles separately like for regular completely english-speaking movies"
I think I have answered the question.

i also have ripped movies that had "extra subtitles",
but those subs wasn't on my VCDs.
My method ripping is : smart ripper (2 parts , chap 1-10, chap 11-20) - DVD2AVI , if the sub is part of the video stream, it could be there in any methode of rip...
does the "extra subs" stay only if the entire movie is ripped in one time ????? i can't understand....
thanks for your help
