    Hi everyone:

My hard disk has 2 drives, C & D. I can defrag my drive D just fine, with either Windows Disk Defragmenter or Norton Speed Disk.

But I cannot defrag my drive C. Each time I tried to defrag it, I would receive a message indicating that an unknown disk utility was being run, locking the drive. The message also gave me an ID No. DEFRAG00105.

I have used anti-spyware softwares (Ad-Aware, Zero Spyware, Spy Sweeper), anti-virus software (AVG, Norton) to check on my computer. Nothing was found.

I also tried Safe Mode, and still got the same error messgae (ID DEFRAG00105).

I searched my entire computer, no such thing as DEFRAG00105 was found.

    Would someone please help me?

    Thanks

    My OS: Windows 98SE

Check the first two posts ... at the top

Since your using Win98SE ... why not just defrag it ... in DOS ... I use to run scandisk all the time in DOS

If it doesn't respond using a startup disk ... make sure your startup disk has those commands on the floppy ... if not ... copy them from the Windows\command folder

    Thanks.

I used boot disk to scan my drive. The drive is now defragmented.

    Cheers
