Any suggestions?: I'm looking for a good, fast converter to convert large AVI movies (1-2 hr.) to DVD.

Try buying the latest version of ConvertX to DVD. It can convert most files to DVD without any problems.

Programs I would not recommend is WinAvi or DVD Santa. I have had lip sync issues when using these 2 programs.

There's always Nerovision, though quality is debatable. You may already have it.

For converters, ConvertXToDVD is fairly good. If you want ones that can use a commercial MPEG encoder that may be faster, take a look at DVD2SVCD and The FilmMachine among others.

If you are looking for just speed, you might want to use a standalone encoder instead. You will have lots more options and control over the encoded MPEG-2. Some of the faster ones are:

    Cinema Craft Encoder
    Canopus ProCoder
    Mainconcept MPEG Encoder
