Hello. I'm using Nero Ultra 6 to burn tv shows (3 at a time) to Fujifilm DVD-Rs. My Nero has been recently updated. And I just applied the latest firmware update to my Pioneer 110D DVD writer.

I don't know why I can navigate the menu system of dvds that I make just fine on my friend's Samsung but not on my Philips 642. Could it just be my dvd player?

Specifically, I see the main menu (and select 'titles and chapters' when burning) when I first load the disc into my player. But once I've tested the dvd by selecting an episode, I can't get back to that first screen.

    Thanks in advance.

First recommendation - get a real authoring tool and only use Nero for burning data discs.

That they work on one player and not another would indicate either your player is not fully compliant (possible, but unlikely), or perhaps Nero does something that isn't compliant and your player trips on it (very, very likely).

If your source is avi, try using ConvertXtoDVD to create a disc. It can create a rudimentary text on menu, but as this is just a test, aesthetics don't matter. Play it in both and see what happens. If it works in both, ditch Nero and use something that produces better output.

Well, Thanks. I do appreciate the info. Interesting stuff. I'm always acquiring programs on the say so of a friend. Problem is, I don't know how to use any of them. That's why I posted in this newbie forum.

But I'm not complaining. I've got them and slowly but surely, I'll learn how to use them. What I can't use, I'll ditch. As for Nero, I hear you, but I paid a lot for that program and I get a lot of use out of it, even if I only use a fraction of it's features. So I won't be 'completely' ditching it.
