    Hi All,

I would like to import chapters into muxman from what is hopefully a chapter template.

I've come to recognize that the chapters to be imported into muxman must come from a frame number format – as opposed to being represented by particular time-stamps within the movie.
If a template were to identify chapters every 5 minutes for 180 minutes in total, then it would seemingly just be a matter of simply deleting unneeded chapters from end of the template text file for a movie that I mux, depending of course on how long the movie is.

I’m bad at math, and am wondering if my simple theory concerning how to set this up is correct. Anyways -- and I hope that I am on the right track here -- in order to have a chapter inserted every 5 minutes, since there are 29.97 frames per second in NTSC video, if I multiply that by 300 (<<60 seconds, multiplied by 5), I get frame 8991 as the first chapter point. I’ve set up a simple spreadsheet to do the rest of the math. Are the calculations below appropriate for this template? Or have I jumped to the wrong conclusion? If I’m wrong, could you please help me?
It’s going to be a little while before I mux another movie, so I thought I’d ask you folks in advance….
    Regards,

    Dave

    frame mins
    8991 5
    17982 10
    26973 15
    35964 20
    44955 25
    53946 30

    and so on…..

So wouldn't I only put the following in the chapter text file to be imported?

    8991
    17982
    26973
    35964
    44955
    53946

    and so on......

  2. Hi-

Yes, your figures are correct. Stick them into a Celltimes.txt file (although Muxman will accept them in any text file, I believe) and you're good to go.
