To convert a midi file to audio mp3 or wav you need a audio program that can record "what u hear" off your soundcard. Then you play your midi file in whatever program you want and you record in the other program while its playing.

Realtime dubbing is the only method I know that will work. But you'll be able to choose whatever format you want to save in that way.

I think audacity can do that. Check out some audio tools and you'll find one that will work.

  3. You can always use Winamp with mp3 plugin to convert Midi files to MP3. To convert to wav it is direct with Winamp using Erite to Disk selection for the output. Once you have it in MP3 or wav, you can write it to a CD as iso for MP3 or as CDDA for both MP3 or wav. For playing the iso MP3 CD on standalone MP3 players you have to write it as TAO or DAO. if you go for multi session ISO for writing MP3 then only the 1st track will play in standalones.

    Many Thanks
    Yoda 313 and Ark

I have made the trick with nero 6 and sound forge 7.
First I convert to wav with Sound Forge and then to mp3 or cdda with Nero.
But bits are only 32 kbps is impossible to increase to 128 or 320 for mp3 that is what i use to do.
The Midi files I got in the net and I think they are originally 32 kbps or even less.
So being some of them play in my standalone dvd players some not.
Besides that I have a doubt about quality because I made the conversions i did do I lost quality or the sound quality are the same as original files.

    Many thanks in advance.

MIDI doesn't have bit rate at all - it's just instructions for a mucical instrument how and what to play, much like a note sheet, but for computers. What it sounds like is up to the instrument.
Try a Google search for "midi to wav" - No need to take a detour via mp3 if you want it on audio CD.

    There's also so-called MIDI renderers.
