I'm using my Powermac and downloaded some avi's that i'd like to make into a dvd. I already converted the avi's both into DVD format with FFmpegX.. From here, several files were created for each AVI. Mv2, Ac3, and MPG2 TS_Video and TS_Audio files were all created. Now, I want to burn the DVD using Toast.
Now, from what I believe i was told in the past.... I would create a UDF DVD format DVD in Toast then drop CERTAIN files into it?? Which ones? And is it possible to have them play one after another.... or have it selectable with a chapter next on the DVD player itself?

Thanks for helping a newbie out!

If you had only one title to go on the DVD, the you could add the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to Toast's Data tab in UDF format. Just like the manual on the ffmpegX website explains. The data is taken "as-is": no menu and no chapter markers if ffmpegX created the VIDEO_TS folder.

If you have several titles to go on the DVD, then you could add the .mpg files to Toast's Video tab in DVD-Video format. In this way, Toast will create a new file structure (VIDEO_TS etc.) containing both input files. Creating a menu is optional with the left panel. There will be chapter markers every 5 minutes. Continuous play is also an option there. Just like the Toast Help section explains.

The advice about dropping the AVI's into Toast is correct.

If you had a VIDEO_TS structure already in place (using MacTheRipper or ffmpegX, etc.), then the UDF format DVD would be the way to go. You'd set that up in Toast, create a new disc, and drop the VIDEO_TS folder into that new disc. Burn.

Great! I need an confidence boost with your input gentlemen. Thanks, as i ended up dropping the videos as mpg and created it that way with menus in toast.
