  1. I use DVD Architect to produce my DVDs with menus and I have it burn the DVDs as well. I have not had any problems till yesterday. I produce a video for someone and everything went great, he then wanted extra copies. I went to make them and know my burning gives me the following error:
    'SFMMCX'-(17)
    'atapi'-(1)
    -' DVD+RW RW5125 1.72'-(1)
    Module sfmmcx.cpp Line 1682
    An illegal request was received.
The disc can't be written. It is an incompatible format.

I thought it might be the new disk, so I took them back and got ones that I have used in the past,,, still same error! Weird part; I tried my DVD+RW disk and it worked fine but my DVD+R disk will not work.
I thne went to NERO to burn and got the following errors:
DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video mighe be unplayable. Do you want to continue?
    I clicked YES..... then got:
A no critial error occurred during operation, which may result in a defective write. Do you wish to continue?
I went ahead and said YES..........

Oddly the DVD appears and plays fine, but I dont' know what has happend and this is kinda a pain!
    Any ideas or help!!

Attached is the log file from NERO if that helps!!!

Forget Nero and just use DVD Decrypter ISO->Read, ISO->Write.
    Read my blog here.

To be real honest, I am having a problem or am too stupid to figure out.... BUT I cant seem to get DVD Decrypter to write. When I go to the DVD folder it doesn't recoginze my files that DVD Architect made (Nero supports them!)

    Am I missing something??

Which version of DVD Architect are you using? The latest Pro version can build an IMAGE file, then you can burn the image file with DVD Decryptor.

Alternatively, try using the latest version of IMGBurn in BUILD mode. It can write a DVD from your DVD Folders.

    Regards,
    George

I did that and it wrote an .ISO file to my hard drive... then I went to srite the DVD and it said it was imcompatable as well..... Could the drive itself be screwed up, if so, I do I find out without just going to purchase another one?????????

when is the last time you rebooted your machine? If it has been a while, try a reboot to see if that helps any.

What make/model is your burner, and have you updated its firmware?

Do you have any packet-writing software installed (the kind that lets you drag-and-drop files to a DVD RW disc)? If so, uninstall it to see if it helps...
