  1. Hi!
I have Panasonic DV NV-GS 180 and using Motion Studio 5.3E...
I have created film file with some still jpg pictures, added text windows etc...and program converted this file to MPEG2 file(for film)...but now I canīt burn it with Nero correctly...
-It takes very long time for Nero to read, create and burn DVD-ca.4-5 hours!
-I can watch it on PC but not on any DVD player...
I give up slowly since nobody can point me right direction,where/what might be wrong with it...
How to burn this "mixed" file?Maybe I need to change something in Motion Studio to fit different files to same standart?I really donīt know....
I was reading and reading, but canīt figure it out whatīs wrong and how to solve it...
And one extra question-how to put text on the film without needing making extra window with only text...want to put text on film instead creating transitions?Couldnīt find a way in Motion Studio guide...
Any help would be highly appreciated...

Nero is rubbish for DVD creation. It is re-encoding (badly, by the sounds of it) your material.

First, make sure that your mpeg complies with the DVD requirements - see What is DVD (top left corner of this page) for compliant resolutions and framerates.

If/when it does, try using something like GUIforDVDAuthor (free) or Tmgenc DVD Author (not free, but there is a 30 day demo) to author this into a DVD structure.

Finally, burn this to a good quality disc using imgburn2. See www.nomorecoasters.com to see what qualifies.

I don't know Motion Studio, but usually the terms you would be looking for in the manual would be Composite or Overlay

  3. Thans for your reply but now you gave me even more headache...Iīm not much for all these stuff, since I donīt have much interests in it...I just want to make family films easiest and simplest way with some small arangemants, nothing professional or complicated...
One more think-I already burned one film with Nero on DVD,but without still images and texts, and it went perfectly...thatīs why my question if there is something more to do with this file?
    Hope you understand my confusion...

My only advice is to ditch Nero and try something better. There are a number of simple tools designed specifically for do family video type work. Look at the Ulead family of products as a starting point.

  5. If you are looking to make family photo slide shows and videos Ulead Video Studio works well. You can import just about any type of media onto the timeline and add music, transitions, text, etc...

Use Ulead to output your finished product to DV-AVI. Then use a software MPEG-2 encoder like TMPGEnc or Main Concept to encode the DV-AVI file to DVD compliant MPEG-2.

Then use a simple DVD authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author or Ulead DVD Workshop and make your DVD.

You can still use Nero to burn. If you are talking about the regular version of Nero choose to burn DVD-Video. The DVD authoring program you used will create a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive. Take the contents of that folder and add it to you Nero project under the VIDEO_TS folder there. Then burn.

I gurantee that this whole process sounds more complicated than it is. I use Ulead all the time to make slideshows and it's a good, easy software. You don't HAVE to use a program other than Ulead to make your MPEG-2 file. It has a built in encoder, but I don't think ti works as well.

  6. Thank you again...I have read a bit but all these donīt say me a word...I donīt understand and have no interest for that...Wonder only why I could burn everything BEFORE with Nero so many years, but now after using this program from Panasonic-totally stop...and suddenly Nero is not good enough...?
    -Can Nero convert files automatically?
-What file format must be choosen for movie?
-Any special type of DVD for burning?
I was in contact with different dealers, friends,PC technicians,Panasonic support and here seems to be the best video forum on the net so far...
I donīt do any rips and other pirate stuff...I even donīt understand what you ppl are talking about here...I just want to burn one f...g file! How that can be complicated?
So please if anybody can give me tip how to burn film with Nero I would be the most happy man in the world!

Shagis - Maybe you would be happier if you bought a standalone DVD recorder and recorded your movies that way and didn't worry about menus, text, jpgs, etc. Sadly, the truth is that it's not as easy as you might think to do this kind of thing correctly and if you don't want to spend the time required to do it correctly, you probably should just buy a standalone recorder. It will work without problems for you. Yes, your DVDs will not be fancy, but they will work.

  9. Probably youīre right but since digital technic comes so it could be nice to do some simple redigering...
And yes again,I donīt want to spend time on this, since I already have my hobbies...all have different hobbies and I canīt just sit now and read thousands pages for some film clips...
Sorry guys...Most likely nobody can help me,so thank you for all tips and replies.
