    is there a software out there that burns dvds like nero, AND IS FREE?

    If you want to burn from an ISO, then IMGBurn is one, or the older DVD Decrypter.

    ImgBurn2 will now burn folders, so you don't have to have an ISO ready to go. Not good for audio CDs, but fine for data, DVD Video etc.

    CDBurnerXP is pretty good for everything else.
