I have a camera that records in mp4 and I am trying to convert the videos to dv avi or quicktime MOV so I can edit them in premiere but I'm having problems.

Quicktime Pro converts to MOV but doesn't play or encode the sound.

VirtualDub doesn''t have any support for MP4

    Winavi converter can't read mp4.

    Thanks for your help...

tried mp4cam2avi ? then you might be able to import directly in premiere or reconvert to dvavi with virtualdub.

Things still aren't working. I just found that the conversion that quicktime pro does of mp4 to mov does not open in premiere.

I tried MP4Cam2AVI_v2.27 and it makes a divx file which virtualdub can open but can't encode to dv with panasonic dv codec.

I tried opening the divx file MP4Cam2AVI_v2.27 in premiere in video for windows mode and it kind of opened it but there are only black frames. When I tried to export that to dv avi it made a file with nothing but black frames.

There must be a way to do this. I just want to edit the video from my Sony Cybershot. I need to convert from mp4 to dv avi or quicktime MOV.

    Thanks for the help...
