Hi all:
Bsplayer comes now with something called "When you save" with lots of ads.
My security tools reported it as a virus !!!
What are in your opinions the best substitutes to Bsplayer ??
Would like to have yr suggestions.

I think you need to open the video_ts folder or video_ts.ifo to be able to view subs in dvds...just vob files are not meant for playback.

The problem is how subs are converted.
With my old DVD's converted by DIKO I can see the subs. using Kmplayer.
I think the difference is with diko you can choose the function "permanent" subtitles, and that's not the case with AVI2DVD.(at least I dont see anything to change the way to insert subs. on AVI2DVD).
The problem now is that DIKO has only 1 encoder and some file cannot be converted
Well....I have to look for better solutions.
Thank you guys.

Following the upper link for AVS DVD Player, I downloaded and installed it. Installation took unusually long time and beware that it will also install a trial version of AVS DVDtoGO without warning.
I've tried the player with a few divx and xvid files, but I haven't found a support for subtitles (srt, sub or alike). -
The most annoying thing when it comes to BS Player for me was its separated playing screen and control panel. Whenever I wanted to play/pause or anything else I was forced to move my playing screen. Now I use GOM player for movies, and WMP for other video files and music.

VLC is a primitive last resort sort of player, nowhere near as feature complete as the original MPC.
sure it can play without codecs... but that's pretty useless when it's as usable as as a joystick instead of a mouse to control your windows cursor. It's just a graphical front end for FFDShow anyway, so better to just use FFDshow combined with soem feature rich video players.
as for KM player, it's not half bad, but not a really good replacement for last version of BS player either, and unless things have changed, not very Vista compatible(MPC works just fine so..)
I used KM player but there's so much I wish it had or was different, especially the way it treats doubleclicks, single clicks and mousewheel to be like in BSplayers. and a lot of it isn't even configurable.Last edited by acheter; 15th Mar 2016 at 14:51.
