  1. Best Buy has this burner for $39.99 this week. I believe the model # is GSA H10LI, anyone have experience with this model or other LG burners?

I'd like to add a burner with lightscribe to my desktop.

I have a goldstar(LG) burner in my desktop and another in my laptop, both factory installed by the system manufacturer.

Fast, reliable, compatible and tolerant of just about any media ID.

I have the previous LG model, a LG GSA-4166B. Actually this was a great burner. Very good burns, but no error scan capabilities. It supports all burning formats and lightscribe.

On the lightscribe topic I have to tell that this technology is cool, but really slow. To get a good label, it will require almost 30 minutes of burning time. Also the technology looks a washed out for my taste. This is not caused by the drive itself, it is a limitation of the media coating.

I have two LG burners(4040B, 4167B) and love both of them....but I personally think lightscribe is dumb.

I just recently got the LG GSA-10N, very happy with it. Better than my NEC's 3540 & 3550. I wouldn't want to wait 30-40 minutes for a disk label to be lightscribed though.

  7. Got a LG GSA 4163b and a LG GMA 4020b on my system and both burners work very well. I use mostly Memorex, Maxell and TDK media wihout any problem.

Yes, it was the GSA-H10L as I bought 2 of them just for the price alone. I will keep you posted on how they adapt and work, as one is going into a new media center with XP and Beyond TV 4.0 and a 3g processor. The other I am not sure what is going to happen to it.

    On and off topic -

I got the Pioneer 710 that was on sale in the last week for $39.99 and had to go to 3 different Best Buys to buy it

Have only burned some Data DVD's so far, but it works flawless. I was about to buy the Lite-On that was on sale on New Egg for $32.99 with free shipping. But I wanted today, so I spent a bit more.
