Best DVD Ripper for making VCD/DVD compliant MPEGs?

Hi

What is the best DVD Ripper for making VCD/DVD Compliant .MPGs? When I say BEST, I mean best in terms of video quality of the output.

I got IMTOO DVD RIPPER PLATIMUM 4. It has VCD output but that comes out at .DAT & DVD output but that comes out as .VOB.

It also has MPEG-1 & MPEG-2 but the settings are not VCD & DVD compliant.

I know everyone have their own opinions as to THE BEST but I just wanna hear it from the forum members.

In the DVD to VCD days, I used DVDx - for DVD5 to DVD5 DVDDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter - for DVD9 to DVD5 DVDShrink or DVDFab Decrypter + DVDShrink

Can you make MPEGs with DVD DECRYPTER? I thought you just get the VIDEO_TS folder stuff like DVDSHRINK.

You can demux to elementary streams using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, but you will have to mux them back to a programme stream if that is what you need. You can also rip to one big VOB by turning off file splitting, then use VOB2MPG to get an mpeg file.
