If I use a program like DVD Shrink (or Fab Dycrypter) say... with no compression to backup my DVD into video_ts and then use imgburn v2 to burn the video_ts to disc...
will imgburn v2 automatically insert 32k gaps to improve compliance? Or does imgburn v2 only do that when creating it's own ISO file?

Great news!
This program in it's current incarnation has got to be one of the best pieces of freeware I have ever used.
Vegasbud thanks for sharing your knowledge about this program. On a side note last night I did a full backup of SW ep4 and the angles made both vobblanker and imgburn a mess. So I had to use ifoedit to remove the mutliple angles before pulling it into vobblanker and then imgburn. Wasted a DL disc but learned a lot.
Thanks again...
