Well, I thought I'd finally got the hang of working with dvr-ms files. I've been using VideoRedoPlus - which I HIGHLY recommend - to automatically detect commercials, manually delete them, and then convert the file to MPEG-2. Then I use AutoGK to output a nicely sized XviD avi file.
HOWEVER, now I've run into a problem with some movies I've recorded on premium channels. Any program I use to try and convert the dvr-ms file ends up freezing right as the movie begins. When I right click on the dvr-ms file, the protection category says "NO." So why can't I work with this file? So far this has only happened to me with movies recorded on premium channels. Maybe the movie really is protected but not telling me so?
