  1. I am having a problem, with "DVD Shrink". The problem is, I would use "DVD Shrink", and then burn with "Nero" I was using "Nero" Version 6.3, then I Updated to Version 6.4. Before I Updated To 6.4, Version 6.3 gave me no problems after using DVD Shrink It would Burn To Nero for me automaticlly. After Updating to 6.4, even tho it's set to burn to Nero, it will not do it, I have to burn Manually. I get this Error message from Nero:

  2. enuff1,
You are using a version that really does not work automatically w/ Shrink as it is buggy

Write down your Nero Serial Number and then uninstall version 6.6.1.4 from your system using the General Cleantool found here:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Next, download and install version 6.6.0.18 from the links provided, re-enter the serial# and you're good to go. Do Not Update to any higher version as this was the last good version

    Nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Also you need to remove your Nero Serial Number from your post .

You could also use more Ram as you are really at the minimum

It's not because the newer versions of Nero are "buggy". It's just that DVD Shrink is made to work with an older version and is no longer updated.

Some people will require the Nero updates for some burners to be supported and certain glitches to be fixed. In this case, just disable automatic burning and have DVD Shrink output the DVD files to a location of your choice and burn with Nero selecting "burn DVD files". Menu on "Nero Smart Start" must be set to "advanced" for the option to appear. I prefer to burn the files with CopyToDVD.

Buring the images with Nero thru DVD Shrink will also mess up the volume label (probably not a big deal for most but I find it annoying.)

You can save them as images on the hard drive as suggested, and either use Nero to burn them that way (use Burn Disc Image), or use DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn (they even put that as an option in the right click menu when you click on an ISO image and everything is set up for you with one or two clicks.)

Burning the image manually is not as convienent as having it burn automatically after shrinking, but is probably the best long term workaround, especially if you have to upgade Nero to work with new burners and media.

  5. Use DVDDecrypter to burn and you'll never have a problem, just set it to burn after DVDShrink and forget it.
BTW...I see your Lite-On is using BSOC,I would update it:

Also, for those that use DVD Shrink there is a version of DVD Shrink that can now use ImgBurn instead of DVD Decrypter to burn, same burning engine but now you have the ability to get updates

I use this myself and have had no problems at all uisng ImgBurn v1.0 and since ImgBurn is now at v2.0, you get an even better burning engine now with teh ability to create ISO's from folders and copy unprotected DVDs with ease, plus much better options than 'other' software when burning DL DVDs as it either sets the layer break for you or gives you the option of where the layer break is while showing if it will work or not at that point on the DVD. Some burning software won't let you do anything so giving a higher risk of a DL coaster
