  1. Hi guys,

Had a question here....I have all my avi movies edited and I saved the project files in ADOBE PREMIERE.
What is the best way to get them into ADOBE ENCORE to make dvds.

Do I have to first re-encode the avi's in PREMIERE in something like m2v or mpeg2?

    Then import those in ENCORE?

Or is there a faster way to do this......

Also if this is the best option....what settings should I use and which format would be ideal for making the dvds the best quality possible.
m2v or mpeg2? Or something else maybe?
with max quality and sound I guess? the defaults in premiere for these options?

    Let me know.

    thanks
    Steve

Yes. Take your resulting m2v and WAV files into Encore for authoring and audio encoding.

There is no easy answer to this. DVD-Rs have a limited amount of space. You have to choose how to compress your audio and video to fit in this space. I suggest you crack open the Adobe manuals and tutorials, and start reading guides here on this site, to wrap your mind around encoding for authoring.

If your "my avi movies" are important camcorder material, use higher bitrates in the Abobe MPeg Encoder. If these are handheld material use even less compression (higher bitrates).

Start with 8400Kb/s CBR video, audio at PCM or 224 Kb/s MPeg. Encore can convert audio to AC-3 if you want.

Don't use the 6000Kb/s VBR default unless you used professional camcorder technique from a tripod.

By any chance are you having this werid issue where you export the avi from Premiere using the mutliplex option in the adobe media encoder and everything looks fine but when you bring it into Encore at the end of the asset the audio/video is cut off or skipping? Seems to me happening with me
