Ok iam new to this forum so i just joined. But about 3 years ago. Around christmas time. My mom and dad got me the Kawasaki Portable DVD Player from target. It was only about $166 dollars. And it was a pretty good decent dvd player. It worked for a couple of weeks.

But then later on, for some reason it stoped playing my dvds. I tried to put in a cd see if it would play a cd and dose play cds. But it won't play my dvds. Is there anyway i can get it fixed or see what the problem is??

    Hi

How about checking the warranty that came with the unit? Is there a telephone support number with the documentation? How about a website url?

Quick google search turned this up: http://www.18002526123.com/kawasaki/

My bad! Missed that bit of info.

If you really want to get it fixed I suggest you contact the manufacturer anyway...maybe they'll repair it for little cost to you.

But since they are so inexpensive, I'd just get a new one from a known maker!

  7. DVD Drive went bad. It lost the laser that reads DVDs. The Laser that reads CDs is a different laser. I fix these things (until I run out of parts anyway), Waiting for a shipment of Mobos, DVDs, Screens, Inverters, Video board, right now. We only get a little money but OTOH I only do them when the Computer repair business is slow.

Plays CDs or plays DVDs only is moderately common, Much more common is won't play at all or will not 0play to the end of the DVD (Layer change). The cure? Replace the drive.

The cheap ones have a really cheap looking drive, others inbetween, The better ones have what looks to be a laptop drive minus the open button since the eject button is on the panel. SDR-083 for example vs generic no name drives that use the motherboards electronics to control the laser, spindle speed, position of the head.
