  1. I've been using Nero Vision Express to create slideshows of jpg's with an audio track, but unless I'm missing something, I have to burn the SVCD or VCD formatted mpg to disk rather than just creating a file and saving it on my hard drive.

Is there any program that will allow me to simply create the slideshow as an mpg or avi file?
I've downloaded Slideshow Movie Maker from http://www.joern-thiemann.de/tools/SSMM/index.html
and have been going though the tutorial, but there's got to be an easier way.

I have another question regarding *.scr files(screensaver slideshows), but I'm posting that in another thread.

Nero Vision - make slideshow SVCD project-, add images then down the bottom there is a button "export" and this will save to .mpg rather then clicking "next" which will continue on to setup the burn.

    Hope this helps

Most of the slideshow programs in the Tools list let you output a file.

Personally, I use Proshow Gold. I never use its built-in DVD maker; I go to an mpeg2 file for use in my NLE or for burning with DVD-Lab.

Thanks for the advice. I saw the "export" button but when it first appears, it's ghosted, and then on the next step it disappears completely. I was able to burn an NRG image file to disk but I don't know how that helps!

Was the export button availability something that came with version 4?
