  1. Here is the process I am using. Please stick with me so I can get to my point, because I really need help. I have been doing vcd's, but recently upgraded to dvd-r(pioneer drive). I do rips with Smartripper, then dvd2avi, make a false avi with VFAPI from the d2v, run the false avi through CCE. With the audio, I am taking the dolby digital track from dvd2avi and converting to MP2 with tmpeg. Then I multiplex with tmpeg.

This process worked great when I was ripping trailers to test quality. I use low bitrates, so I can fit 2 movies on a dvd-r, but there is no blockiness(CCE is awesome). When I did the full movie, I am getting a little shaking at some points. I don't think it it a bit rate problem, but thats why I am asking for your help. Also on the full movie tmpeg is really getting me out of sync audio, so please reccomend another great program. Also, I heard that dolby digital is roughly the same size as mp2, but my file sizes are at least 4x larger. Is there software to go from dolby digital to dolby digtal with lower bit rates, because there is something fishy with a 1.4gig audio track which is an hour 45 min and 192kb's. Thats the size dvd2avi is giving me. When I encode to mp2 with tmpeg its 300mb at 48000hz and 192kb's. Please give me a hand because I want to do all my movies(over 300), so the originals can go the way of ebay!! Also I am running 98se at 850mhz athlon. 3 pass with CCE is about 8 hrs for this movie. Thanks
