I did search but couldn't find an answer, so sorry if I missed something.

I have a five-minute DVD I would like to get on to my computer and somehow end up with a wmv file that I can put on my website. Is there an idiot-proof way to do this?

Thanks for any advice and assistance.

    Super ... still experimental .

Window's movie maker ... convert vob's to mpeg or avi , then bring them into movie maker .

For dvd->wmv,You may try the SPAM,which also has many additional and exciting features such as Sutitle offset, DVD Crop, DVD Letterbox, Text watermark, Image watermark, etc.
