  1. Look at page 4 of this :

Projection lamp needs a high volatge and current to start from cold, and the lamp tends to draw more and more current after it heat up, that may lead to burn out. Electronics ballast helps the start up and regulates the current.

Ever consider add a 180W lamp and a fan to a zoom box ?

    Thanks singsing. Interesting stuff.

I've found a promising replacement on ebay:

    EDIT

    It's $45 buy-it-now.

I'm really tempted to get it. The seller says "looks new" and doesn't offer any more detail than that. But that is the exact model number the eiki website says I need to do a replacement: 610-254-5609.

I'll have to think about it.

I bought it for $45. I figure its worth the gamble if it extends the life of my projector.

--- Where do I find the lamp hour life counter on an eiki projector??

    BUMP!

    Well here you go:

    www.yoda313.com/video/screen2.avi

It's a 3min divx clip (10mb) of the new screen. Its a DALITE screen. And its approximately 70" diagonally.

I demo it with the LOBBY SHOOTING SPREE scene from MATRIX 1.

FYI - I zoom in at the end of the clip to show you how large the pixels look when you get really close to it. Again they disappear when your more than a foot from the screen but they are noticable.

Enjoy. I hope these demos have been helpful. Even though this is an old projector the real world demos can be much more persuasive then an instore controlled example.
