My only successes so far with D/L is with DVDDecrypter in ISO Modes.
The above failure was built from two discs in DVDShrink and ran through FixVTS.
The first failure was identical to the above failure BUT I forgot to change the burn speed....the first failure was burned @ 6x which I did NOT want to do but forgot to change.

D/L is.....to me....a complete waste of money and time.

  2. Hmm I can see what's happening there but logically (going by the code) I don't know HOW it's happening!

You seem to have hit some sort of sweet spot there and the only way for me to correct it is to recreate your image using copies of your IFO files and a directory listing from 'dir' via the command prompt.

If you could do that, I can have it fixed in no time.

I (plus everyone else) would really appreciate it.

  3. Actually, scrap that. I figured out what was special about your VIDEO_TS folder and recreated the problem.

The problem was actually caused by the 32k padding stuff (you must have a vob missing in your vts set somewhere, or it's < 32k in size) and the immense amount of padding your chosen layer break required.

It has now been fixed and an updated version (with a bunch of other fixes / new bits) will be available by/on/at the weekend.

I would burn at 4x, not 6x. I've had a really good experience using the PcgEdit/ImgBurn combo method as found in a guide here on this site.

I don't fully trust ImgBurn alone yet, but my confidence is definitely improved when I see L-UK! replying to threads like this one.

By the way L-UK!, there is a whole demographic out there who could really use a tool that extracts IFO mode video data from DVD recorder discs. The ISO, File and DeCSS are not needed at all. More than anything, I wish you could whip up a tool that reads a DVD recorder disc and extract the video. It would be a legal tool, and it would be a good source of income (either charge $10-20 for it, or just do donations). I get requests for such a tool weekly.

  5. It's a real shame when people find bugs like this one but I guess our limited number of test cases just can't match up to what the rest of the world does! I saw lots of DL burns being done by the beta team and nobody ever came across this problem.

As for not trusting ImgBurn... have a little faith, when have I ever let you down?!
You have to expect a few minor glitches though but they're nothing that can't be solved in a few mins IF PEOPLE LET ME KNOW!

Re. the other tool, aren't there already apps that can do that sort of thing? If there really was that big a need, I'm sure someone would have stepped up to the plate and taken it on.
It's not something I'd do now though, sorry.

Unfortunately, there is no dedicated tool for it, and others have not stepped up to the plate on it. I've actually talked with 2-3 programmers about it, but it's far down their priority list. Everybody is still relying on DVD Decrypter (which is getting harder to find) and SmartRipper (which does not do well on DVD recorder discs). It sucks.

No, you've never let us down. I'm just an extremely cautious person when it comes to new or updated software.

Thank You Sir.....you're a Gentleman and a Scholar...
I don't pretend to know "squat" about the details of programs....and I was hoping that this post would NOT sound as if I was bashing you or ImgBurn....that was NOT my intention.
Had I read your responses sooner I would have replied to help you.
I still have the folder here on my HDD if you need anything from it to verify what you already know.

This one was burned at 2.4x.....my preferred speed for D/L since I am sceptical of D/L in the first place... The first attempt was burned at 6x by mistake because I had MAX selected as the burn speed instead of 2.4x.
