Samsung hack NO LONGER WORKS????

The 4th of Nov. 04 I bought a Samsung DVD P142 (zone 2 Italy), applied the hack as shown on many sites, press repeat, then 5,7,5,3,8 and then number 02 appeared, changed it to 9 etc. It worked beautifully and watched many films. Bought new TV changed hook-up to rbg connections, today went to play a US film, all lights flashing disc is wrong code. Changed connection to TV back to the way it was but DVD will no longer accept hack code. First time you try all numbers showed on screen, 57538, but number 02 did not appear. On repeated tries you can enter 57 but then they disappear before you can enter the rest of the numbers???? Tried unplugging etc, can't find anything that works, any ideas out there? Thanks.

Does the player read any discs at all now?

Yes it does, it seems to have reverted back to a zone 2 machine like it was when I bought it, only now it will no longer accept the hacker code.

You've tried about everything I would suggest. The most common fix is to unplug and leave powered off for an extended period of time.
