Fixation Errors

I am continually getting fixation errors (could not perform fixation) on all my large file discs I try to write. Unfortunatley this includes VCD's. The problem occurs with 90% of the media I try. I have tried updating my drivers etc. Nothing helps.

I used to have no problems with the drive. I am getting ready to toss the actual drive (it is 2 + years old) Should this fix the problem?

I had the same problem and I open the CD burner and greased some parts.
It help for anothe 20-30 CDs.
But the best answer get a new one.
