is it possible to fit a film onto on 8o min cd. i read somewhere that it was but i wasnt to sure so i thought i would check it out with you guys. would the quality be affected.

On the basis of the information you've given, Yes, it is possible.
However, we're gonna need much more information to be able to provide any further assistance.
Use GSpot and https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=271697 to upload a screenshot of your source AVI here. This will tell us the running time of your AVI and give an indication of the original quality.
Also, by CD, do you mean in VCD or SVCD format ? Do you want this playable on a settop DVD player, or just on your PC ? Can your DVD Player play Divx or XVID ?If in doubt, Google it. -

You have to keep in mind that
1) VCD offers lousy video quality. I mean WORSE THAN VHS.
2) VCD only fits about 50 minutes of video per CD on that setting.
A 90 minute movie usually takes TWO CD's. That's standard practice in VCD popular areas like Asia.
